MorphCryst Consulting was founded by Dr John Mykytiuk who is chief scientific officer with 30 years’ experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical contract research and development sector. This has included chemical process route research and development to production and evolved into specialisation and technical excellence in solid-state chemical science and crystallisation development.

The CRO sector has enabled Dr Mykytiuk to experience and supervise a diverse range of solid-state programmes such as salt, polymorphism and particle size manipulation of a developability class 4 API; a complete solid state chemistry investigation and crystallisation development project which improved an APIs’ bioavailability significantly and subsequent multi kilo manufacture.

Crystallisation development of a challenging API intermediate modified the particle morphology and chemical purity affording improved filtration and drying characteristics and in turn a significant reduction in cycle time on multi-hundred kilo manufacturing campaign.
